Valerie Norman: Model Agent

Valerie Norman is the manifestation of all of your childhood dreams. A model agent, a DJ and the mother to the most beautiful hound you’ve ever laid eyes on. We had the pleasure of meeting Valerie after her performance at the Prada party here in Sydney last year and we were instantly taken by her beauty and her kindness. With an eye for beauty and a passion for art & design Valerie has created a world where everything is dream like, especially her home where she was photographed by fellow Friend of Edan Duc Thing Dong. We don’t want to give it all away so read on to get to know her better.

Name
Valerie Norman

Occupation
Model Agent

Hobbies
Watching the veg garden grow at home and long walks with my dog Odessa. I’d also love to do a lot more hiking as it’s something I enjoy.

An early offactive (scent) memory?
Tobacco on my dad and the smell of my mum’s Filipino food cooking in the kitchen.

Favourite scent?
Hmmm. Rose, gardenia, orange, geranium and patchouli.

Favourite flower?
The black magic sunflower – it’s a dark maroon sunflower!

Is there a season you favour?
The crossover of Spring into summer.

Do you dream?
Not often, when I do remember it’s usually the scary ones.

Can you share with us a book that you're currently reading, or recently finished?
A children’s book I recently bought for a friends child but fell in love with myself: Whale dreaming Bibunla Yalingbila by Sandra Close-Delaney.

How do you think you express love?
Through my actions.

Is there a philosophy or principle that you live by?
Protect the voiceless. Climate change and Global warming is causing so much damage to the earth’s oceans and animal habitats on land. The diminishing wildlife need our help.

Where are you drawing inspiration from at present?
The world around me, art, nature and different food. This is why I feel it’s important to see as much of the world as possible.
